Our Programs
We connect Black & Latinx tech talent with companies, mentors, and peers committed to racial equity and inclusion in the tech sector.
Our programs center Black and Latinx Computer Science majors, early tech career professionals, and industry partners to create inroads in the innovation economy, build community, share stories, and tackle systemic racism. Across all our work for racial equity, we celebrate the stories, creativity, imaginations, and experiences of Black and Latinx people working in tech.
Through our Fellows Program, tech industry collaborations, and Code2040 community events, we are building a future where the institutional and historical marginalization of Black and Latinx people in tech is eradicated, empowering Black and Latinx technologists to thrive in an ever-growing economy shaped by the digital revolution. We welcome volunteers and company partners to share in the work of revolutionizing the tech landscape.
Fellows Program
Our 10-month program offers a supported pathway into the tech industry for Black and Latinx college students majoring in Computer Science. Through career-building workshops, racial equity advocacy training, and support securing paid internships, our Fellows Program offers career building opportunities in tech through a racial justice lens.
About the Program
The Fellows Program offers more than a pipeline into the tech industry. It’s a lifelong network of support designed to enhance our collective capacity for transforming the tech industry.
Over the course of 10-months, you’ll gain community with other Black and Latinx people committed to racial equity, ongoing support in securing a paid internship, and training in racial equity advocacy.
As a nationwide program, we offer the majority of our programming virtually and support students in connecting with job opportunities around the country.

We require students to have some experience coding. Our Fellowship is designed for students who desire to gain experience and make an impact in the tech industry. As part of our application process we have applicants provide a code sample as part of a technical screening assessment. The technical assessment will not be a factor in determining your acceptance to the program. Instead, this will provide you with some practice and help assess your coding skills before you start applying to internships.

No, you do not have to move to the San Francisco Bay Area to participate in Code2040 programming. However, depending on individual company guidelines, travel advisories and CDC guidelines, you may need to relocate to where your internship is being offered if it is not remote.
