Seeing Anglo-Saxon origin names like Godwin (originally Godwine), Edwin (originally Eadwine) and Oswin (originally Oswine), I imagine that "Win" could be a modern form of "Wine".

Wine is just stupid. It makes me think of three things: an alcoholic beverage, whining, and a very sexual dance that rappers always talk about.
