The witch in the series 'The Enchanted Forest Chronicles' is named Morwen. I like this name, and one of my cats has this name too (named after the character.)

Morwen could also mean "Fair sea" in Welsh; mor "sea" and gwen "fair, white".

In Tolkien's mythology Morwen is mother of Turin and Nienor, wife of Hurin. The name is composed of Sindarin elements 'mor'-'dark' and 'wen'-'maiden'.
