I think this name is more fit for a boy rather than a girl. Jericho definitely gives off strong biblical vibes with its "City of Palms" nickname and its oasis environment with fragrant trees. Fact: It's the lowest city in elevation in the world at 846 feet below sea level near the Dead Sea. It's the name Jeri with a bit more panache. I like this name and a few good diminutives would be Jeri (Jerry), Rich, Rico and Eric.
I love the song 'Jericho' by Sleep Token and I love it as a name. I can see it being unisex, but I think it's adorable for a boy. I'd probably use it as a middle name though.

I don't understand why people downvote comments saying they like Jericho for a girl. Jericho is a place name, it's only recently started being used as a given name for people, it's not a well established name in the least, so as far as I'm concerned it's as suitable on girls as it is on boys, that is not at all. I love this name, for a girl. The only other place I've come across it is for a female character in the book 'The Dream Merchant' by Isabel Hoving. Great book. Jericho was a fiesty, clever, loyal character, so I adore the name.
