I've never really heard of anyone with this name outside of the U.S. South. The pronunciation, compared to "Imogen," sort of shows that it's a regional name, at least in terms of commonness; you say it like a southerner would say "Imogen".
Absolutely beautiful and stunning name! It's strong and sweet at the same time and would be adorable on a little girl. Besides, the nicknames Immie and Midge are so cute!

I strongly prefer Imogen, as it is pronounced the good way, to be frank. ''IM-o-jen'' is the nice pronunciation, I don't like ''IM-o-jeen''. I don't like the look of this name either, as it looks like a combo of ''imo'' and that old-fashioned male name Gene.
Nah. Too blech for my tastes.

Imogene Herdman is the sympathetic antagonist in Barbara Robinson's children's classic "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever." She has five siblings (Ralph, Leroy, Ollie, Claude, and Gladys) and also appears in "The Best School Year Ever."
Immogene is appealing. The "jean" ending is quite appealing. I still prefer Imogen or Innogen though.
