As a botanist, absolutely love this name and used it for our son. Simple, botanical, phonetic. It checks all the boxes. The only drawback is people who’ve never heard it before will call him "Adler" or "Elder," but that is their own misreading - not a fault of the actual name. Goes well with our other children who all have similar botanical names.
