Christian Beck (Rector, Bach's Pupil)

January 26, 1716 - Baalsdorf, near Leipzig, Saxony, GermanyChristian Beck was born the son of Christian Beck (farmer in Baalsdorf). He enrolled at the Thomasschule in Leipzig on October 9, 1732; and studied there from 1732 to 1743, since February 4, 1732 already as external. He obtained his Baccalaureus degree in 1738, and his Magister of Theology degree in 1745. Although he attended the Thomasschule during J.S. Bach's tenure, it is not known if he actually studied with him. After his studies, he became Konrektor in Kloster Roßleben in 1749, but died soon after.
