Bootloader
Ein Bootloader ist ein Programm, welches startbare Medien beim hochfahren des Systems lädt.
Verfügbare Software
Je nach Architektur des Systems sind verschiedene Bootloader verfügbar:

| rEFInd | sys-boot/refind | Bootmanager für EFI und UEFI-Plattformen. |
| syslinux | sys-boot/syslinux | Eine Sammlung simpler Bootloader für verschiedene Zwecke. |
| systemd/systemd-boot | sys-boot/systemd-boot | Bootloader, der spezifisch für UEFI-Firmware und das systemd-Initsystem ist. |
| U-Boot | dev-embedded/u-boot-tools | Bootloader, der bei eingebetteten Systemen gängig ist. Siehe U-boot-tools. |

| rEFInd || sys-boot/refind || Boot manager for EFI and UEFI platforms. || Does not provide native drivers to read XFS devices. |-
