This is a page for tracking how DebianInstaller is being used by third parties in custom images and other distributions.

  • Ubuntu uses a customised version of the DebianInstaller for their installation CD. Their LiveCd used to use DebianInstaller as part of its boot process, although nowadays uses an initramfs-based boot process instead (Debian's live-initramfs package was derived from this). Their changes to the installer are available via bzr; see this wiki page for details. Their live CD uses a custom graphical installer (Ubiquity) with d-i as a backend for many operations.

If you have produced a customised image based on the DebianInstaller, please add it here. DebianInstaller/Modify, DebianInstaller/Build, DebianCustomCD, and DebianInstaller/Preseed are useful resources.
