File the annual FAFSA

Complete the FAFSA and submit all documents early, to ensure that you are given maximum aid in the upcoming academic year.

The 2025-26 aid year includes the fall 2025, winter 2026 and spring/summer 2026 semesters.

You can file the 2025-26 FAFSA through June 2026.
All students are encouraged to file the FAFSA early to be considered for all available funding options.
Federal loans accepted after the enrollment period cannot be processed.

New first-year undergraduates are encouraged to file the FAFSA early to be considered for all available funding options.

Wayne State Guarantee for Transfer students: We must receive your 2026-27 FAFSA and admissions application by July 1, 2026
Merit Scholarships - admissions application priority deadline for first-year undergraduates: December 1, 2025. Final deadline for award consideration: August 1, 2026.
Merit Scholarship admissions application deadlines for transfer students:
- Fall 2026 semester: July 1, 2026
- Winter 2027 semester: October 1, 2026

Satisfactory academic progress appeals must be reviewed before the end of the semester for which they are submitted. Financial aid cannot be reinstated retroactively for a prior semester. See the semester appeal form for submission deadlines.
