Early credit opportunities

Have you already earned college credits? Nice work! Wayne State accepts AP, IB, CLEP and dual enrollment credits. We’ll help you understand how your credits apply to WSU and how to transfer your credits.

Irvin D. Reid Honors College

The Honors College's academically rigorous and culturally engaged program prepares you to become leaders on campus, in Detroit and beyond.

Michigan Assured Admission Pact (MAAP)

Wayne State University is proud to participate in the Michigan Assured Admission Pact, a statewide initiative that helps simplify the college admissions process and expand access to higher education for eligible Michigan high school graduates.

First-Year Residential Experience

The First-Year Residential Experience (FYRE) offers you a welcoming, supportive community in select residential halls. FYRE is designed to help you transition from high school to college by connecting you with peers, academic support and campus resources that help build confidence and set the foundation for success.

New Student Orientation

New Student Orientation is a required, on-campus experience that helps you starts strong at Wayne State. You’ll meet other new students, learn about key support services and connect with your academic advisor to register for classes. When you sign up for orientation, you’ll also be able to register for placement exams in mathematics, biology and/or chemistry if they’re required for your major.
