I have tried all the possible settings to bring terminal prompt; however it does not work at all. Even I cleared up the "settings.json", still it does not work. Is there a way out to resolve this issue?
I also tried accessing the cmd.exe in windows from other applications, and observed that it is accessible. Then, I removed the VS Code manually from the system along with other files from the windows registry. When reinstalled, at the first run the command prompt would appear and accepted commands, executing all of these successfully. However, the prompt freezes to load when the VS Code application is relaunched the second time.
Request a possible solution. Thanks!

What errors or messages show? Can you include a screenshot? If you tried every possible setting then the problem would probably be fixed, but also, saying you tried every possible setting doesn't tell us anything except that we can't suggest anything because you've already done it. List each and every specific thing you have done in your question and the outcome of each. Clarify what you mean when you say you "tried accessing cmd.exe". What does it mean to "manually" remove VS Code? What do you mean when you say the "prompt freezes to load": Is it freezing? It is not loading at all?music2myear– music2myear2025年02月11日 18:32:13 +00:00Commented Feb 11 at 18:32

Thank you for your reply. Whenever I startup the VS code application window, the first thing it would do is to bring the terminal besides login the main window. However, the issue is with the terminal window, which freezes the VS Code application. In the status bar, it shows "activating extensions" continuously.Research Profile– Research Profile2025年02月13日 00:11:53 +00:00Commented Feb 13 at 0:11

Please use the EDIT button to add any information requested to your question to make it more clear. Do not add information down here in Comments. Also, if it's hanging loading the extensions, have you looked into loading VS Code without extensions?music2myear– music2myear2025年02月13日 00:25:39 +00:00Commented Feb 13 at 0:25

Resolved!
Requires a fresh installation of the earlier version of the VS Code Studio, (version VSCodeUserSetup-x64-1.85.1)
After installation, the updates can be disabled.
