SIM Binding in android application

Question

Have to create an application which has to identify the SIM. Check whether the same SIM is placed in the phone or not, proceed only when same is presented on registration like how UPI apps are working.

1. Detect SIM is replaced or removed from phone
2. If SIM is replace with other sim need to verify again

I tried to do it by SIM number ICCID but Regular apps can no longer access ICCID due to privacy/security concerns.

Restricted APIs: SEEK API, SIMtool Kit API, OMAPI. Any API available to access this? Is there any SIM applet can use to handle uniqueness of SIM.

• Robert: Will your app be related to a certain mobile network operator or do you just want to use the SIM card for identification (e.g. for binding a license to the SIM card)?
• Manonmani: @Robert Its not related to mobile network operator. 1.Want to identify sim 2.Can we able to save data in sim via mobile app 3. How we can bind license to sim card
• Robert: As you have noticed identification by SIM is now disallowed on Android except your app is from an MNO. You have to live with it and use an alternative way. SIM cards are smart cards only the network operator has write access to.
• Manonmani: So do we need network operator privileges to access smart card for mobile application?
• Robert: If you want to install something on SIM card then yes this can only be done by MNO. If you just want to access the SIM card AFAIK this is only allowed by Google for apps from MNOs.
