Hi Claus, I fixed the non-Textmate issues (i.e. everything before the P.S. in my original email), but the TextMate issue remains. I've had a friend confirm this issue (i.e. hanging on plot calls when scripts are run in Textmate) on his system, and it sounds like you're confirming the issue as well. I keep meaning to write to the TextMate list, but haven't yet done so. Let me know if you have any luck with this issue.
