X-Ray Powder Diffraction

Involves the diffraction of X-rays through a powdered sample. Max von Laue was the first to diffract X-rays in 1912, and structure determinations were performed by William Henry Bragg and William Lawrence Bragg. X-ray diffraction does not work for amorphous materials.
