Semilatus Rectum

The semilatus rectum of an orbit is defined as

(1)

where h is the specific angular momentum, G is the gravitational constant, and M is the mass of the orbiting body. For a particle in an orbit with semimajor axis Eric Weisstein's World of Math a and eccentricity e, the semilatus rectum is given by

(2)

where q is defined as usual for a parabolic orbit as

(3)

Specific Angular Momentum
