Jump Rope

Also called a skipping rope. Let a rope of length and ends a distance b apart along the x-axis have linear mass density . Now rotate the rope about the x-axis at angular velocity . Ignore gravity, let T be the tension on the rope, and be the angle the rope tangent makes with the x-axis. Then
