A synthesis imaging technique essentially equivalent to self-calibration, except it explicitly uses the phase closure and amplitude closure relations, rather than the antenna/IF gains. For n antennas, there are amplitudes and phases. There are a total of triangles, but only non-redundant ones. The technique starts with a model of phases, then computes the rest using phase closure relationships. A map is then made, which is inverse Fourier transformed back, and the phase closure relationships used again on the new model. This process is repeated until it converges.
