Dynamic Range

The ratio of peak signal to noise.

In a spectrum, the dynamic range is defined as the ratio of the continuum to the residual left when two line-free channels are subtracted from each other. The dynamic range is limited by multiplicative errors that differ from one channel to another because of imperfect bandpass calibration.
