Connected Element Interferometer

An interferometer in which signals from different antennas are correlated with each other after traveling an electrical path or radio link which brings them together. The term was introduce to contrast the technique with that used in very long baseline interferometry, in which data is recorded at widely separated antennas, then correlated after the fact by synchronizing on recorded time stamps.
