Coherence Time

The coherence time is the temporal interval over which we can reasonably predict the phase of the light wave at a given point in space. Temporal coherence relates to the finite bandwidth of the source,

where is the frequency bandwidth. Spatial coherence refers to the source's finite extent in space, and corresponding incoherence of emission at different points.
