Charged Particle

A charged particle is fundamental particle (such as an electron) or a compound particle (such as an alpha particle) that carries a charge. Some common charged particles are summarized in the table below.

particle symbol charge
hydrogen ion
proton p

A summary of charged particle effects is given by Sherrill (1991).

Bremsstrahlung, Cherenkov Radiation, Charge, Coulomb Force, Cyclotron Radiation, Electromagnetic Force, Field Emission, Fluorescence, Fundamental Particle, Induced Radioactivity, Ionization, Lattice Displacement, Pair Production, Particle, Phosphorescence, Synchrotron Radiation
