Unexpected session timeout

I don't know if this is the right palce to post, but here goes...

I was trying to run some programs and after a few min they would expire...

I thought this might be the DSL so I unplugged and reset that.

No luck..

Then I rebooted Windows xp and started up the programs again...

No luck they kept saying basic sessioin expired... how could that be I just started them.

I've got lots of big numbers for the duration and to date most have functioned.

I also keep getting a internet server error which stops the program and is a pain to
restart all the time.

Other programs run for 6.5 hours and that is the way it is suppost to work.

Others just seem to quit with no error code or reason...

I wondered if there might be a server problem?

What are your programs doing?

Web application sessions are usually not meant to take that long.

Is there a way for us to take a look at the code?

After starting RunBasic go to the Preferences tab.
You might want to see what your timeout limits are:
Runtime timeout limit (secs):
Session timeout limit (secs):

I still get alot of server errors 500...
Is there anyway to identify at what point these are taking place?
At the server itself or Transmission glitch, or maybe in my machine?
I am considering changing ISP providers from 1.5dsl line to a 30gbps line cable.

Task manage shows I am using less than 1% of the DSL link now and thus don't see the need for the extra cost.

Can anyone enlighten me to the pros and cons of the higher speed?

If you try to reconnect to a run basic program from your browser history (or possibly a bookmark), you will sometimes immediately get a session expired message. Make sure the address you are connecting to doesn't end in a lot on meaningless letters, otherwise you will be trying to connect to an old (and possibly expired) session.

500 errors indicate that there was a problem on the web server (or more usually an error in the program running on the web server), it won't be the fault of your PC, browser or your ISP (and a faster link won't help).

Runtime session limit kicks in if your program is running in an endless loop, I think. If you have a program that does this error just copy paste it here and I can try to replicate the error.

what happens to a web program when there is a 500 server error?

The program has been running for about 6 months with few changes so the probability of a computer error in the program is somewhat low and yes i've seens programs run for years without that special condition that cause an error.

That is like that old saying "nothing can go wrong" .. and Murph's law says anything that can go wrong will...
