Launch event of GCECA NEW
Dr. Yasuaki Hijioka (National Institute for Environmental Studies: NIES) attended a launching event of Global Centre of Excellence on Climate Adaptation (GCECA) on November 14 hosted by the government of the Netherlands during the COP 23 in the German city of Bonn. The GCECA aims to accelerate climate adaptation by recognizing, building and promoting excellence (the best practices of adaptation) among all relevant stakeholder groups around the world. Other participants of the launching event are Mrs. Nieuwenhuizen (Minister of Infrastructure and Water Management of the Netherlands) and Ms. Patricia Espinosa (Executive Secretary UNFCCC) and so on. In the event, Dr. Hijioka stated that NIES expects to work closely with GCECA by sharing knowledge and experience regarding adaptation studies and development of information platform.

MOEJ and ADB agreed to share climate risk information on AP-PLAT
The Ministry of the Environment, JAPAN (MOEJ) and Asian Development Bank (ADB) held "the 3rd MOEJ - ADB policy dialogue on environmen" and agreed on work program, following the signing of the extension of "Letter of Intent on Cooperation for Environment between the Ministry of the Environment, Japan and Asian Development Bank" . As for climate change adaptation strategies, the MOEJ and the ADB also agreed to collaborate with each other and share climate risk information via "Asia-Pacific Adaptation Informant Platform"

2013年10月1日 The Summary for Policymakers (SPM) of the Working Group I contribution to the IPCC Fifth Assessment Report (WGI AR5), "Climate Change 2013: The Physical Science Basis", was approved and the underlying scientific and technical assessment accepted.
