2025 was the year after 2024. It is the eighth year for the Nintendo Switch with its successor, the Nintendo Switch 2 (revealed January 16) being released on June 5. The most notable releases for 2025 are Donkey Kong Country Returns HD (January 16), Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition (March 20), Pokémon Legends: Z-A (October 16) and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (December 4). The Switch 2 era kicked off with Mario Kart World (June 5), Donkey Kong Bananza (July 17), Drag x Drive (August 14), Kirby Air Riders (November 20), Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment (November 6).
