Dear all, one of the wikimedians that was always supportive of this group, Camelia Boban has been unfairly blocked indefinitely on the Italian Wikipedia for wanting with tenacity to set up a notice board for articles named for deletion for Wikidonne. I have written a letter of support during Wikimania : Open letter of support for Camelia Boban. Warm regards, Nattes à chat (talk) 12:14, 16 August 2024 (UTC) Reply

@Freddy eduardo, @Fulbert, @Kaizenify, @Paper2040, @OwenBlacker,@Fæ, where can we read about what’s going on with WMLGBT+, the board, the recruitment of staff, and the next board member election?
I asked about this back in December, and OwenBlacker responded "there will be a more formal annual report available within the next few weeks."
More than two months have now passed with no further updates - and I note that the funding of staff is only secured until the end of May, so I am wondering if any potential staff could/would take on a position with such a limited future. Peltarion (talk) 01:59, 12 March 2025 (UTC) Reply
- @Peltarion: Hello, I am not on the board, but I am active as an advisor, and do secretarial support for the organization.
- The Wikimedia Foundation approved a no-cost extension to the term of the grant at Grants:Programs/Wikimedia_Community_Fund/General_Support_Fund/Sustaining_Wikimedia_LGBT+. Wikimedia LGBT+ has more time to manage the staff.
- The page for hiring at Wikimedia_LGBT+/Hiring notes an October - November 2024 application process. Wikimedia LGBT+ coordinated multiple human reviewers to read and rate every complete submitted CV and cover letter, and that was ongoing December - January. Some applicant contact and some interviews happened starting February. The first updates have to go to the applicants for the positions, then there will be public updates on the hiring page.
- As always, I am seeking opportunities to talk with anyone who wants to document administrative processes of Wikimedia LGBT+, because so many of these processes could be reusable and because Wikimedia LGBT+ develops them without much precedent due to being first and global among Wikimedia community organizations. If you have questions, then ask now or prepare them. There will be more to say soon after some upcoming scheduled decisions, and I recommend waiting another two weeks for those updates.
