In Italian Wikipedia someone started a discussion about linking to Dmoz/ODP because it is like an advertisement to AOL. So I think that it could be useful to us to keep a sort of web directory in which we can list websites about a topic.

Wikipedia is neither a mirror or a repository of links, images, or media files nor a directory, but the Open Directory Project is an attempt to create a hierarchical directory of web sites based on a participation model that is somewhat similar to a wiki.
