Roses are cultivated since about 2,500 years, about 250 species exist in the northern hemisphere, are cultivated and used for breeding.
Millions of people worldwide love roses and quite a number of them would like to share their knowledge and show their roses in a Wiki.
A number of roses is presented in Wikipedia, but
- A common scheme or concept is missing
- A compact system with informations about rose classes, breeders, botanists, rose gardens, rosarias and rose care is missing
- The only private Wiki on an other platform is too often down to work with.
- A private platform for roses exists (HelpMeFind) but it doesn't have at all the advantages of a Wiki.
- This Wiki would start in three languages: German, French and English, but would not be limited to this languages.

Discussion
[edit ]- Strong oppose Wikipedia exists --Username142857 (talk) 03:55, 2 December 2022 (UTC) [reply ]
- Comment Comment Doesn't Wikispecies cover this? Or is this about very specfic varieties? 14:10, 6 June 2016 (UTC) β The preceding unsigned comment was added by ShakespeareFan00 (talk)
- Oppose Oppose As said above, this is most covered by Wikispecies (taxonomy and classification) and Wikipedia (description). If this hypothetical wiki would also describe things such as breeding methods, that should go to Wikibooks. Besides, pictures of roses go to Wikimedia Commons. --Zerabat (discusiΓ³n) 17:28, 5 September 2016 (UTC) [reply ]
- Oppose Oppose per Zerabat. No need to have a separate project for such a specific topic. Zhangj1079 (talk) 03:14, 6 November 2017 (UTC) [reply ]
