Wikimania 2005 translation
(on meta)
Wikimania translation will be exciting and demanding.
There will be hundreds of pages to translate for Wikimania : brochures, handouts, abstracts, full papers, workshop/presentation slides. We need everything translated into each of the official languages (at least English, German, French).
Todo
[edit ]- Develop the official site more: see Translation requests/Wikimania
- Post "Wikimania site launched" on WMF; Update needed: Es, It, Ko, Es, Ro.
Requirements
[edit ]Interpreters : We will need 3-10 interpreters for the duration of the conference, including
- real-time interpreters for the sessions in the main room.
- multilingual interpreters to greet guests as they arrive on Thursday/Friday
Text translation: We will need translation of ~1,000 pages of text (~100,000 lines of 55 characters) into {English, German, French}. A subset of around 10 pages (instructions, directions, welcoming information, website content) will need to be translated into 10+ languages, perhaps {Arabic, German, English, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Dutch, Polish, Swedish, Chinese}.
- These will need to be translated ahead of the conference, between June and August.
