Office actions on Wikimedias of Mainland China

In September 2021, The Wikimedia Foundation globally banned seven user related to the unrecognized Wikimedians of Mainland China, revoked administrator rights from twelve, and gave out warnings to twelve other users. Four of the top ten most active administrators on the Chinese Wikipedia had their rights revoked.
World Intellectual Property Organization blocks
[edit ]The Wikimedia Foundation's applications to become an observer of the World Intellectual Property Organization has been blocked by China in 2020,[1] 2021,[2] 2023[3] and 2024.[4]
Observer applications for Wikimedia Deutschland,[5] [6] Wikimedia France,[5] [6] Wikimedia Italia,[5] [6] Wikimedia México,[5] Wikimedia Sverige,[5] [6] Wikimedia CH,[5] [6] Wikimedia Argentina [6] and Wikimedia South Africa [6] have also been rejected.
