@DerHexer, Johannnes89, and Martin Urbanec:, for you attention! Regards, ZI Jony (Talk) 15:09, 21 February 2025 (UTC) [reply ]

Too late (just added to CNR yesterday), too long (six weeks, seriously?), a global campaign without ambassadors and without local communication, insufficient banner request with just a logo and no translated banner texts, and so on. I'm inclined to decline the request entirely but will take a closer look into it on the weekend, I'm on a train to the German AdminCon right now. In the meantime, you can already read CentralNotice/Usage guidelines. Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 15:31, 21 February 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
Hi @ZI Jony, we have several big campaigns requested to be run in the same time period, with overlapping targets with your campaign. I agree with DerHexer that 6 weeks exposure is not a suitable request. Also, is yours a writing or photography contest? Reading your grant request, and noticing your metrics are focusing on Wikipedia, Wikibooks and Wikivoyage, I would assume the former, and would like to propose to limit your CN campaign to those 3 projects, allowing more room for the Wiki Loves Africa photography contest CN campaign which will be running at the same time. And maybe we start light, and increase visibility (number of impressions) towards the end of the Ramadan for instance? Ciell (talk) 10:20, 23 February 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
DerHexer and Ciell, Sorry for the late response! We really appreciate your suggestion. I'd suggest three times: in March, two times for one week each, and in April, during the last ten days of the campaign. I've updated the request page. Regards, ZI Jony (Talk) 16:22, 24 February 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
@ZI Jony: if you'd like this campaign to go live, we'll need a few more details to create the banner and the campaign.
  • Currently, the banner is only available in 5 languages and the landing page in 11. If you'd like to target 28 languages, please list them and make sure both banner and landing page is available in those languages.
  • Please note that creating, and during the competition: managing, separate campaigns for all 28 languages is a lot of work. Some CN admins do this for global campaigns, but these campaigns in general will have a dedicated person on the team for doing so. Since you have one central landing page already, my proposal would be to create a multilingual banner (the language shown in the banner will depend on the user's preferred MediaWiki interface language) to work with.
  • Please also make sure to read the CentralNotice/Usage_guidelines#Customizing_Banner_Code,_Design_and_Styling on the topic of custom banners, where it reads: "Banners are made with HTML and CSS, not Wikitext." We can take your design in wikicode and transform it, but it might end up looking a bit different from your design.
