This already exists on Wikipedia. See Wikipedia:Reference Desk. - Ypnypn (talk) 04:01, 5 January 2014 (UTC) Reply

I am aware of that. I discuss this here. --Jakob (talk) 13:13, 5 January 2014 (UTC) Reply
How would splitting it into a separate project help? -- Ypnypn (talk) 14:06, 5 January 2014 (UTC) Reply
Look at the part that starts with "There is the reference desk" and ends with "best as a stand-alone project", perhaps? PiRSquared17 (talk) 14:14, 5 January 2014 (UTC) Reply
I'm not sure I understand the argument. Basically, giving it its own domain would quintuple the page views, because that's just what happens to separate projects? - Ypnypn (talk) 14:36, 5 January 2014 (UTC) Reply
Well, Wikivoyage is a fork of Wikitravel, but it gets 3000 views per day. --Jakob (talk) 15:53, 5 January 2014 (UTC) Reply
Actually, Wikitravel gets far more visitors than Wikivoyage. - Ypnypn (talk) 17:45, 5 January 2014 (UTC) Reply

Apart from the project's concept per se, I object the idea of using regular wiki pages: I think it would be wiser to use Flow boards, when that extension is ready to use.

Also, using language subdomains would split up the work: I'd rather suggest to keep discussions central, with Flow Boards automatically tagged by language. --Ricordi samoa 03:23, 6 January 2014 (UTC) Reply
