I support this proposal. WikiMaknyus has contributed to promoting free knowledge and encouraging community participation in documenting culinary heritage and local culture. The continuation of this project has the potential to further enrich Wikimedia projects with valuable and underrepresented content. I believe the proposed activities can strengthen contributor engagement and create positive impacts for both participants and Wikimedia projects.

  1. I think this project if approved will strengthen the engagement of Wikimedia Jakarta Community members through collaboration with a wider range of communities, both Wikimedians and non-Wikimedians, from various regions within Indonesia and abroad. I believe this is a positive development and can encourage younger generations to think more openly about global interconnectedness in the future.
  2. I also find the strategy of designing a big umbrella of activities that simultaneously benefits multiple Wikimedia projects and multiple languages to be particularly innovative. This project represents an expansion of the previous WikiMaknyus I initiative, which received strong support within our community. Given that successful foundation, I believe this project also has a strong likelihood of success.
  3. Compared to the previous project, the main innovation lies in the broader range of locations and languages being covered. This is a valuable development, as it focuses on expanding outreach and fostering wider collaboration rather than serving primarily as a pilot or experimental project.
  4. I think what makes this project especially unique is its support for emerging Wikimedia projects such as Betawi, Lampung Api, Melayu Jambi, Baduy, and Tengger, which will receive a significant boost from this initiative. In addition, contributions of content in languages such as Mandarin Chinese, Arabic, Russian, Malay, Filipino, and Esperanto by members of our community are extremely rare. This aligns closely with the movement's goals of increasing diversity and ensuring that the sum of human knowledge reflects the widest possible range of cultures, languages, and perspectives.

As part of KlubWiki Universitas Brawijaya and Malang resident, I wholeheartedly support the proposal. The proposal will bring rich culinary history, experiences, and stories from Indonesia to wider Wikimedia community and general public, which I think is very important.

This proposal is interesting to me. I would like to ask some questions and provide feedback.

  1. The proposal indicates that the detailed budget is provided through an external link, but the linked budget document is currently not publicly accessible. Could you update the sharing permissions or provide an accessible version so reviewers can assess the proposed budget?
  2. The proposal covers a very broad scope, including activities across three countries, multiple Wikimedia projects, and contributions in numerous languages. Could you explain how the team plans to manage this scope effectively and ensure the quality of contributions across all planned activities?
  3. Could you elaborate on why international travel to Malaysia and the Philippines is necessary to achieve the project's objectives? Were alternative approaches, such as collaborating remotely with local Wikimedia communities or volunteers, considered?
  4. Could you explain the criteria used to select the proposed locations? How do these locations align with the project's goals and expected impact?
  5. One of the project's objectives is to strengthen Wikimedia communities and language projects. Could you explain how the geographic scope was determined, and how considerations such as community needs, existing capacity, and equitable regional engagement informed the selection of project locations?
  6. The proposal identifies several different challenges, including limited food documentation, development of Incubator projects, and multilingual dissemination of content. Could you clarify how these different challenges are connected, and how the planned activities collectively address them?
  7. The project plans to contribute across multiple Wikimedia projects. Could you explain why each of these projects is essential to achieving the project's objectives, rather than focusing on a smaller number of Wikimedia platforms?
  8. The project includes activities in multiple countries and languages. Could you provide more information about the team's experience managing projects of this scale and coordinating multilingual contributions across different Wikimedia projects?
  9. The proposal targets 50 participants and 50 active editors. Could you explain how these targets were determined, and whether they are based on outcomes from previous projects or other supporting evidence?
  10. Could you explain how the content targets for each Wikimedia project were determined, and how the team assessed that these targets are realistic within the proposed timeframe?
  11. The proposal lists several partner communities and organizations. Could you clarify the expected role and level of commitment of each partner throughout the project?
  12. The proposal aims to support the development of several language communities in Wikimedia Incubator. Could you elaborate on the specific activities planned to support these communities, and how success will be measured?
  13. The proposal plans to translate content into several languages, including English, Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, and Russian. Could you explain how these languages were selected, and how translating into these languages contributes to the project's intended impact?
  14. The learning section mainly describes the expected benefits of the project. Could you clarify what specific questions the team hopes to answer through this project, and how those learning outcomes will be evaluated?
