#1Lib1RefCEE is a part of the global #1Lib1Ref editing campaign will be organized in the form of the competition for the CEE region. The competition will be held from the 15th of January to the 5th of February 2024.

Twice per year, #1Lib1Ref — abbreviated for one librarian, one reference — calls on librarians around the world, and anyone who has a passion for free knowledge, to add missing references to articles on Wikipedia. #1Lib1RefCEE aims to join CEE forces of editors and librarians to make Wikipedia more reliable.

Context and Contest

[edit ]

There will be a specially coordinated set of activities for the CEE region. All participating communities will be added to the CEE Language Competition to encourage citation improvements and to enhance the quality of content on the various CEE language Wikipedias. The competition will have both a regional and national level. To participate, you need to register on the Dashboard. A major improvement of this campaign is the implementation of the CEE region languages into the Citation Hunt Tool.

Prizes and certificates

[edit ]

Participants of this campaign with at least 30 added references will receive Wikimedia Foundation certificates.

  • The first place in the campaign will receive a voucher worth 80USD for shopping at the Wikipedia store
  • The second and third place in the campaign will receive a voucher worth 50USD for shopping at the Wikipedia store

Local organizers have the freedom to award prizes and certificates for local campaign participants.

Hashtags

[edit ]

One of the most important things about participating in the #1Lib1Ref campaign is to add the hashtag (#1Lib1ref) in the edit summary of the article. To ensure we separately track participation from the CEE region we will be using in addition to the standard #1Lib1ref tag, the #1Lib1RefCEE tag. It is extremely important to use both tags, so that we can track the results and so that each reference entered is recorded in the Wikimedia hashtags tool.
