Feedback from MEA Regional Funds Review Team
Dear Muhammed amine benloulou,
Thank you very much for taking the time to submit an application for this Rapid Fund cycle. We welcome your efforts and your dedication to expanding content with the focus on climate change in the Maghreb region and the Wikimedia movement more broadly. It is great to see your investment in developing content on Wiktionary with the focus on climate change in the tacawit language. Please see our comments and recommendations below and respond to them on this page by Friday, May 10:
- Collaboration with other user groups who are participating in Wiki for Climate Change. It appears that last year that was a lot of collaboration taking place between user groups across the Maghreb region. May you kindly share how you are planning on collaborating with other user groups in the Maghreb region based on learnings of the previous year, to expand the impact of the campaign and increase the quality and quantity of the contributions?
- Adjusting the metrics. It appears that you are planning for about 74 participants to join your campaign, as well as 61 editors, with 6 organizers involved. However, your expected outcomes include 8 new Wikipedia articles, 33 Wikimedia Commons entries, 22 Wikidata entries and 60 Wiktionary entries. The metrics seem rather low given the amount of participants that you expect to attend. May you please share your rationale for this, or adjust the metrics so that they realistically reflect the amount of participants and the outcomes of the activities. The metrics added in the Excel sheet of the budget shares different metrics and number of participants than the application. May you refer us to what are the correct metrics for this project? Thanks.
- Growth and innovation from the previous year. What is the growth that you are expecting to see from the previous year? How has the number of participants and metrics created changed specifically for the Algerian user group activities from the previous year? Have you considered any new or innovative approaches for the campaign activities this year?
- Adjusting the timeline. As mentioned during our call, you will need to adjust the timeline so that the project begins after May 26 to allow for time to process the grant if it is funded. Kindly adjust the start and end dates of the timeline, as well as in the Excel sheet of the budget.
Once again, thank you for your contributions to the movement and we look forward to receiving your responses. FElgueretly-WMF (talk) 14:19, 3 May 2024 (UTC) Reply
