I think that the filter changes made in late November are now capturing all this spam. If you notice any getting through, please let me know where, and I will see what I can do to further improve the filter. — billinghurst sDrewth 11:53, 8 December 2018 (UTC) Reply

updated AF/69
I have updated AF/69 to hopefully stall some of the create.pikto... spam. I will look further at the filters to see what else we need to do. I am noticing that spambots are throwing more benign edits to try to look true.
FWIW we may need to just blacklist create.pikto... or maybe we write a stronger abusefilter just for that. If you think that blacklist alone is the means to proceed, please just poke a note at Talk:Spam blacklist. Thanks. — billinghurst sDrewth 23:05, 10 February 2019 (UTC) Reply

Romani Wikipedia
Hi, I'm a sysop on huwiki and I saw you blocked an anon on rmywp (Romani Wikipedia) so I'd like to talk about it and I'd like to ask your help.
There is a Hungarian user named Ђорђе Вуковић who's recieved a global block due to cross-wiki abuse. It didn't stop him because then he was uploading hoax and racist content to the huwiki as an anon and he always change his IPs. Fortunately we stopped him with two new abuse filter.
Now he's unable to vandalize the huwiki but he countinue his activity on other wikis eg enwiki, rmywiki, slwiki and rowiki by spamming his 'demand'. As you can se the recent changes on rmywiki is full with his vandalism. I'd like to help against him (especially on rmywiki because there is only a few user who could notice and revert the vandalism) but I'm just a simple user there. Is there any solution, tool or user group for me to make it more effency? – Balint36 🚌 bus stop 14:25, 20 May 2019 (UTC) Reply
- @Balint36: You could probably run for sysop there (I can explain more later, about to run to some meetings today, sorry this will be brief.) I will also help work on a global filter that should help on the samller wikis. He jumps through a lot of ranges, so I'm not even sure a rangeblock is feasible but perhaps you can also share the filter with someone here (Billinghurst?) and they can also implement it globally. Praxidicae (talk) 14:28, 20 May 2019 (UTC) Reply

Please have a pause on swwiki
Hi Praxidicae, you came in with a lot of edits. Obviously there is a problem that you do not understand the articles you try to improve. Like the delete tag you put on Mr Puaz without giving any reason and without reacting when I asked you about on your sw-talk page. That is not our style of working at sw-wikipedia. We have had a number of non-Swahili speakers who have contributed a lot of valuable content by communicating.
I request you to make a pause now and let us have a discussion about your way of contributing first. You removed content which sometimes was put in by longtime editors. In such cases we expect a newcomer to do some research and to contact the editors before proceeding. You may understand (or not yet) that in a language like Swahili there is sometimes not much reference in our language. Editors have to decide if we use English language references and which ones. That decision depends on some understanding of the cultural context. It does not necessarily help if you try to import here the usage of say, enwiki, without communicating. Are we together? Kipala (talk) 17:55, 2 July 2019 (UTC) Reply
- Kipala I've responded to you there as well. Can you please clarify specifically what edits you find problematic? I haven't touched the Puaz article since 2018. Praxidicae (talk) 17:59, 2 July 2019 (UTC) Reply
- I see you removed the content from your sw-talk page. Well, if you want to be helpful in the context of a small African language wikipedia, it would be great if you did not just tell us it is all forbidden and "blatant terms of use violations" but be a bit more specific and take the time to tell us case-by-case, best before taking action (and if there are community decisions, thez surely can be shown). Because small wikipedias still afford to take a bit of time for each other. Cheers! Kipala (talk) 19:12, 2 July 2019 (UTC) Reply
- KipalaA case by case basis would take months, there are literally thousands of these urls put onto sw-wiki by multiple now globally locked accounts and even several by an administrator there and Wikimedia projects cannot host such content. I'm not aware of any policy that would require a community consensus to remove terms of use violating material. Additionally, you effectively banned me from editing rather than actually asking me about the specifics and when I did give them to you, told me I was wrong on the basis that it's acceptable there. I'm not harming the project in any way, however those urls are. Praxidicae (talk) 19:17, 2 July 2019 (UTC) Reply
- I was just passing though here on the CVN issue above but am I reading this right? You were removing spam links and Kipala took issue with it? So Sw wiki wants spam? Kipala, Why are you opposed to removing links that are clearly malicious or spam? Those links would only harm the SW community. --Cameron11598 (talk) 19:20, 2 July 2019 (UTC) Reply
- I'll also add that I fail to understand your reasoning in the slightest. You say twice that because you are a small wiki and there are often not suitable sources for/in your language, however nearly every single link is in English or otherwise not in Swahili and on subjects that are broad and do have more than enough available sourcing in virtually every language and are not spam. Praxidicae (talk) 19:21, 2 July 2019 (UTC) Reply
- And also for the record, [1] this is a list of urls I removed from only two articles - none of these urls are in Swahili and at least half of them are scams. Praxidicae (talk) 19:29, 2 July 2019 (UTC) Reply
- Kipala I'm a scientist with degrees in pharmaceutical chemistry and in analytical chemistry specialising in drug analysis, and I can assure you that those websites are not suitable, reliable sources and should not be used on any Wikimedia site. - Praxidicae As for your remark about clarifying my question: I reacted to the list you posted upstairs. Now let me say that I am grateful for your intervention because we have learned something which had not recognized. Having said this, I imagine this interaction could have proceeded smoother with some communication before. None of us had seen a previous warning from you to Jimmwandishi (the account edited swwiki only, plus 4x commons) which would have helped to understand the need for action. (Please enlighten me: is this not the usual procedure? That is at least what I remember from here and what we follow except in extrem cases (his hidden links to the "freelancinghackers" I consider as such but you had not reached there). Previous communication would have enabled us to recognize the problem, do the removals (with guidance fom you?) and avoid the problem we have now of checking for the mutilated pages left behind by his clumsy way of setting links you removed. Another point for me to ask you to pause for a while was that I saw not only links but also some correct and unlinked text passages removed (see above, I think it does matter to some extent if I understand the language or not.). Then you list some links as "spam" which are definitely not (like nation.co.ke) which made me wonder. Please rest assured that I have great respect for your work. The question of communication remains. Kipala (majadiliano) 11:32, 6 Julai 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks to God for the good conclusion of the case. I also have learnt from it. I revised many times the contributions of Jimmwandishi, Hreflafa and JanethKihumba, I guessed also they were the same person, I deleted many of their openly commercial links, I reproached them sometimes and menaced to block them, but I stopped there. When Praxidicae so strongly came in, I appreciated. Let's go on together in peace! --Riccardo Riccioni (majadiliano) 07:34, 7 Julai 2019 (UTC)

Hi Praxidicae! You've nominated three of my sites for deletion for spamming. This is strange 'cause I have made about 90 000 edits and 99% of them are useful. It seems that I've been the most active editor at English Wikiquote, for example, during the last two years. At most wikis I've placed images where there were none. So what's this "spamming"? - Again, your edit count doesn't matter at all, not in the slightest. I would appreciate if you don't continue going around using your edit count as an argument as to why you're right. Statistically speaking, much less than 99% of your edits are useful considering the majority of your edits are at projects where you're presently blocked for civility problems or other issues. Hypothetically, if it was 99% useful edits, that's still 900 unconstructive edits which is not something to brag about. Regarding you making articles and pages about yourself, after a quick check it seems you don't meet the notability criteria of any Wikipedia I've edited content on, although it is of course up to local communities to decide on it. Some pages you deleted on ki.wikipedia.org
Hello, I am interested in linguistics (especially Gĩkũyũ) and botany, contribute usually on ja.wikipedia.org, sometimes on en/ja.wiktionary.org, etc. and sporadically visit ki.wikipedia.org expecting something interesting. The day before yesterday I happened to go there and noticed your deletion activity. It seems that some of the pages, however, do not deserve deletion since the contents are correct, not "spam." I understand partially at least three among them: ki:Nyenje (cockroach), ki:Ngunguni (bedbug; actually ngũngũni ) and ki:Indo cia kũrũga (property of cooking; maybe the last word is kũruga , indeed). Respectively as follows:
- Nyenje: Nyenje (cockroach in English) is a kind of tutambi which appear often on a corner of a kitchen and like to eat matigio of food. Nyenje is seen within the order called Blattodea. (...)
- Ngunguni: Ngunguni or bed bug is a kind of tutambi which bite and drink human blood at nighttime. (...)
- Indo cia kũrũga: A Gĩkũyũ eats many kinds of foods of the culture. (...)
Note that tutambi is plural form of gatambi, whose meaning I do not know but might be 'insect' judging from the contexts. The expression for 'insect' I know is kanyamũ (kanini). Even other pages do not seem so strange; at least they are things other than "spam." --Eryk Kij (talk) 00:51, 25 July 2019 (UTC) Reply
- All of the pages I deleted were created by globally locked SEO spammers. I have no objection to their recreation but the creation by those accounts were not legitimate and were nothing more than poorly translated spam to sell products. Praxidicae (talk) 11:25, 25 July 2019 (UTC) Reply

Regarding your input
Hello there!
I replied to your input on my OTRS application, I appreciate you expressing your input in there. I’ve recently started editing more actively on the Wikimedia projects and I can understand that while many worry about hat collecting, that won’t be found with me. Rights are given with the understanding and expectation of them being used in the right manner, and that’s how I operate. Respectfully, your reply came off as a bit rash with the assumption of me hat collecting as well as correcting my use of the term administrative work. I can see the disconnect of where I used the work but found it applicable to use. --Giooo95 (talk) 16:53, 6 August 2019 (UTC) Reply

Saludos.--Marrovi (talk) 18:52, 26 October 2019 (UTC) Reply

Buenos días;
- Marrovi I have been away for a few days, so please give me a few hours to read through this and find someone to adequately translate a response. Praxidicae (talk) 13:57, 28 October 2019 (UTC) Reply
- Marrovi I can understand your messages (mostly) just fine but I request that you write future responses in English, a languge that everyone currently involved knows. Thank you, Vermont (talk) 15:17, 28 October 2019 (UTC) Reply

I've seen that the creator of arz:فؤاد_الكريزى is globally nominated to be blocked, what is the suitable action to be held at the arz.wikipedia ? HitomiAkane (talk) 18:46, 6 January 2020 (UTC) Reply
- My recommendation is that they are blocked and their article deleted locally until a steward gets around to globally locking. Unfortunately it's really all that we can do. Praxidicae (talk) 18:47, 6 January 2020 (UTC) Reply

Hello! Could you explain please why you suppressed the br:Skrivagnerien Ejipt page in the Breton-language Wikipedia, whereas there are similar pages in other languages (Q18204247)? --Llydawr (talk) 18:11, 22 January 2020 (UTC) Reply
- Sure, it was because it was created by a crosswiki spammer to promote himself. See ماء الغيث. Praxidicae (talk) 18:12, 22 January 2020 (UTC) Reply

Why did you delete w:iu:Intellivision_Amico?
While I am sure you had a good reason for deleting the page. The deletion reason doesn't make it clear to me why it was deleted. I am contacting you on meta because you might not have enabled crosswiki notifications and I feared my message would not reach you since iuwiki is a small and a GS wiki, and not every GS monitor their notifications crosswiki.
