Thank you very much for submitting your proposal for the event "Telugu Wikipedia's 21st Anniversary: Fostering Growth and Capacity Building." I’m delighted to see this initiative supporting capacity building and skill development among existing Telugu Wiki contributors, as well as focusing on engaging new and diverse contributors from underrepresented groups. Overall, the proposal is very strong and substantial, and I appreciate the effort you’ve put into preparing it. I’ve consulted with two colleagues—namely Praveen and Rachit—and have incorporated their feedback into this response.

The main objective and the target group outlined in the proposal make a lot of sense; I understand that community growth is a pressing need within the Telugu Wikipedia community. Your intent to work with new and diverse audiences to help expand the community in the long term stands out the most. Additionally, your intention to focus on better engagement with the existing community by involving them in the consultation process and different event committees is very much appreciated.

There have been many conferences focusing on capacity building before, and there are many templates available for such sessions/workshops. The teams at the Wikimedia Foundation are happy to support you in developing a strong program for your event.

As a minor suggestion: it would have been great if the post-event engagement activities could be expanded further, particularly regarding new contributor engagement with mentors. It sounds like a really promising idea!

Budget-wise, there are no concerns; everything looks good to go.

Overall, I see a lot of potential for growth in your event! I want to once again express my appreciation for the work you’ve done in developing this proposal. You are free to make any changes or adjustments to the proposal until September 30, if you wish (although from my perspective, there’s no pressing need). Technically, I’ve "sent the proposal back to you" on Fluxx. Even if you don’t make any changes, you’ll still need to submit it again. After September 30, your proposal will be reviewed by the volunteer Conference Fund Committee, with a final decision expected by mid- to late October.

Your suggestion to improve post-event engagement, especially between mentors and new contributors, fits well with our goal of encouraging long-term participation. Based on your input, we've made the following updates: Personalized Learning Paths: We plan to create learning paths for new contributors based on their project interests, ensuring they get tailored support.
