The goal is to make the biggest crack in the planet. The power level bar goes up until it reaches the top, then it goes back down. The goal is to stop it when it's as close to the top as possible by pressing A, which can be done four times provided good timing. Afterward, the Kirbys jump up and when Kirby is about to land, the player has to press A right before the two reticles on the rock line up; this is the most important part, as it multiplies the power of the charged-up punch. Whichever Kirby makes the biggest crack in the Mirror World wins.
Doing nothing will give the minimum score of 020.00; the crack isn't even shown due to how small it is. Without lining up the two reticles, the maximum possible score caps at 360.00; this doesn't require being perfect at the first part, but does require getting close enough to the top. Performing well enough in the first part and perfectly lining up the reticles will give the maximum 999.00 score, which makes a crack so deep it splits the Mirror World in half.
Crackity Hack is a spiritual successor to the Megaton Punch sub-game in Kirby Super Star . This is further evidenced by its Japanese name, which means "Gigaton Punch"; a banner in the background additionally has the word "Giga" on it in reference to aforementioned name.

Crackity Hack appears as one of the playable sub-games in Merry Magoland. In addition to button controls, the game additionally features motion controls, where the player swings a Joy-Con instead of pressing A. Here, the player can play as Kirby, Meta Knight, King Dedede, and Bandana Waddle Dee. Similarly to Star Slam Heroes, which plays mechanically similarly to Crackity Hack, the cracks will destroy hard layers in the planet at every 300.00 of score. Each difficulty also causes the gauges to fill faster, meaning more have to be filled to get the same result as in lower difficulties. If the player reaches 999.99, a cutscene will play of four Waddle Dees in inner tubes floating in the water in the opposite side of the planet; a geyser caused by the crack launches one of the Waddle Dees out from the water.
Crackity Hack has eight missions:
- Crackity Debut Match: Play Crackity Hack for the first time.
- 900.00 on Level 1: Win with a score of 900.00 or higher on Level 1.
- The Dark Reflection's Power: Play while wearing the Dark Meta Knight dress-up mask.
- Crack the Planet on Level 2: Get a score of 999.99, and reach the other side of the planet on Level 2.
- Consecutive Victories on Level 3: Win 2 times in a row on Level 3.
- 5,000.00 Total Score: Earn a grand-total score of 5,000.00 or more.
- Clear All Difficulties: Win on all difficulty settings.
- Crackity Champ: Complete all other missions for Crackity Hack.
Completing every mission unlocks the original music for the sub-game.

- In Kirby & The Amazing Mirror , Cappy and Poppy Bros. Jr. cameo in the audience, even though they do not appear in the main game.
- Additionally, many different color variations of enemies that do not appear elsewhere make an appearance, such as green Waddle Doos and blue Scarfys.
