Mission Statement
Our mission is to equip teachers and teaching parents with methods and materials which will aid them in training their students to become confident and competent communicators and thinkers.
Using the four language arts—listening, speaking, reading, and writing—IEW methods have been proven to be effective for students of all ages and levels of ability, including those who are gifted, have special needs, or are English language learners.
Our Founders
IEW’s methods have been developed over time.
Anna Ingham
As a primary teacher in the 1930s, Anna Ingham designed a phonics-based reading and writing program, the Blended Sound-Sight Program of Learning.
Dr. James B. Webster
As a professor at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia in the 1970s, Dr. Webster expanded his aunt Anna Ingham’s program to meet the needs of college students.
Andrew Pudewa
While teaching 7th–8th grade English and history in the 1990s, Andrew Pudewa streamlined the coursework and received permission to market the program in the United States.

I started using IEW in 2018 in my homeschool with my now twenty-year-old son. He wrote circles around all the others in his first-year college writing courses.
