  • Hackable Irrigation Timer Valve on Amazon

    07/28/2025 at 17:06 0 comments

Anyone buy and use any of those cheap irrigation timers from Amazon ? The ones that sit at the outdoor valve/faucet and are on a timer as to when they open the valve ? I'm curious is there is a particular brand/part number that's hackable or has a chip inside that has an open source toolchain for homebrew. Anybody know anything ??????

  • Accessibilita: Open Source Wheel Chair Electrical System

    Accessibilita

This is a massive project I've been undertaking in my free time on behalf of the Mobility Independence foundation, you can learn more about them here: https://themif.org/

This project is entirely free and open source and will be latent open source meaning as soon as antyhing is developed it will be shared and uploaded to github whether it is functional or not. This project aims to be completely transparent and open in the spirit of solving these problems for wheel chair users and sharing information freely for all to utilize all over the world.

Please if you can show your support by following our github organization and repositories here:

    https://github.com/Accessibilita

If you would like to contribute or participate in our project feel free to open an issue, submit a pull request, or message me directly !

    RobotManipulator

Define Robot Manipulators or Industrial Robots in the form of DH Parameters for Arduino sketches Requires Arduino Eigen library as dependency found here:
    https://github.com/hideakitai/ArduinoEigen

    Overview

The `RobotManipulator` class is designed for defining robot manipulators or industrial robots using Denavit-Hartenberg (DH) parameters. It provides functionality for forward kinematics and inverse kinematics using the Jacobian Transpose method. The class is designed to be compatible with the Arduino platform.

Things I've Built

WPI RBE4815 Industrial Robotics - CV Brick Sorting Robot

For WPI's RBE4815 Industrial Robotics cource my friend and I programmed a Fanuc robot to sort color lego bricks using a webcam and a LabView computer vision program. Done in winter/spring 2012 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EgCG1Ignfr4

Apeture Science Geg/Wades Herringbone Set

I had the idea of making gears for my RepRap Extruder with the Aperture Science logo. I had some help though, modeled in Blender by Erik Scott from the original STLs and printed by Steve Kelly on his Mendel90

Custom Xbox 360 Controller

Simple mod to a standard wireless Xbox 360 controller. Blue shell with yellow button set. All from china off ebay.

Portal 2 Wheatley NZXT Phantom Case Mod

A custom PC case mod done to my already modifed white NZXT Phantom PC case. The mod consisted of painting internal parts coordinating colors and painting color accents all over the case. Wheatley graphic laser engraved into window.

Restored 1962 Fender Bandmaster Tube Guitar Amp

I received this amp in beat up condition in high school for free from a friends father. Got the electronics restored by a professional tech, and build and covered a new headshell from scratch.

AVR Board 2.5

For WPI's RBE2002 course I designed a custom electrical system and controller for my team's whiteboard wiping robot. The board has two Atmega32's that talk over SPI, one is for the main program, and the other is for PWM and motor control.

Apple Extended Keyboard Teensy USB Mod & dyed keys

Using the popular firmware developed by a user at Geekhack.com I used a Teensy to convert my ADB Apple keyboard over to USB. I dyed the keys like the adrian sheperd keyboard found in the original Portal.

WAVE-AUV Electronics 2012-2013 WPI MQP

I led the development, design, and implementation of the electrical system for the WAVE AUV. I design the embedded control system and the circuit boards for the power electronics system.

Tigershark 3D Printer Controller Prototrype

Tigershark 3D, a 3D printer motherboard developed for Ultimachine. Influenced by the design of the RAMBo, the TinyG, and The Arduino Due. Designed to be the first RepRap controller to use TinyG for 3D printing. Assembled Dec 2014

Rostock RepRap 3D Printer

My build/implementation of the classic Rostock design, it incorporates the traxxas RC car rod end mod in lieu of the printed rods. The frame is made of high end birch ply and the printer is driven by an Ultimachine RAMBo-Mini

WPI ME1800 Sterling Engine`

For the course ME1800 where we learn about machining and CNC CAM programming we had to build a sterling engine during the weekly labs. By the end of the 7 week term we ended up with our own sterling engines machined on Haas CNC mills and lathes.
