The content types offered up for testing on H5P.org are supposed to give new users examples of what H5P can do. Drag and drop for instance is a content type that is more difficult to use, and for this reason, it is not enabled by default.

I recommend that you check out the tutorials for these content types.

We are experimenting with limiting the number of content types available to make the test drive experience less overwhelming for new users. Hi Anke,

H5P.org has constantly been timing out and crashing lately making authors like you loose all their unsaved work. H5P runs on a single cheap server and is not designed to scale and facilitate content creation for the entire world through the Corona crisis. We've been getting more and more complaints from users not able to access H5P.org at all because of all the traffic, so turning on content types so that content creators can bring the site down again won't help anyone unfortunately. H5P.com is built to scale and just adds more servers when needed. H5P.org is built to be a forum, a place to look at the example content and a place to try out H5P.

I'm sorry we can't just set up a free site for the world to use. We're not a huge global IT enterprise. We do however offer H5P for free as long as you take care of the hosting yourself.

This quote is unfair to all people (including me) trying hard to create good material for their students.

While I understand your frustration, I think it is unfair to expect a small company to offer a free hosting service to the world - especially since the software H5P itself is completely free and can be hosted on your own (BG ETEM's) systems.

Previously Drag and Drop is not available to new users of H5P.org, the reason was it is one of the more compicated content types to author. But there was link which provides you access to it. A few months ago the core team decided to completely disable creating a lot of content types in H5P.org to make sure that the basic functionality of the site will work. The server which H5P.org uses have very limited resources and was never designed to host 'real' content. However even with several warnings there are a lot of users that still use the site to host their contents which placed a lot of strain in the site.

In terms of turning it back on this is very unlikely.
