The 2006, with the explosions of huge video based community websites such as Youtube, has shown how video contents are becoming one of the most direct and cool to use web communication approach.
Drupal, as a leading open source content management platform, absolutely needs a good and globally accepted video content approach.
This group aims to get ideas and coordinating efforts between the different people involved in the video content development. The goal is to provide drupal with an easy, powerful and extensible support for videos.

I released video module 7.x-2.1-alpha2 version on 11th of Sep. This major version completely redesign the video module and its core, I'm the only one worked on this release and seems our co-maintainers (6.x) had no time to contribute code to the 7.x yet. I'm very very happy about the progress of downloading and using video module. It has over 10,500+ usage now.

Just looking for advice on how to manage media that is already in a directory-based structure. It seems the Video module for Drupal 8 was designed with the idea that the media files are first uploaded in the browser individually, while I already have 12,000 video clips on-disk in a directory structure.
I guess the path is:
- Create a Video content-type with only one field (video), plus term-reference (from Taxonomy);
- For every file in the directory, create a node of Video content-type, which links to the video on disk.

I installed drupal. I want that users can add videos that can be commented by other users. Some kind of a video forum where normal links are represented by different bookmarks assigned by users. A video forum commenting system.

I installed Drupal 8.0.6 and Video module 8.x-1.2 yesterday. Two video content types have been created(video embedded and video uploaded). The embedded video can play video from youtube and vimeo. However after I uploaded a mp4 video file to the drupal site as a uploaded video content type successfully, it can't be played. There is no video thumbnail showing on the browser, see the attached image file for the screenshot. Any comments are appreciated.

Below are the scenario and requirment and would like to get suggestions on such implementations from anyone who has done in the past or if any one can suggest some direction
- Uploading videos to Akamai from Drupal
- Playing videos (streaming videos) from Akamai in view mode of the node.
- Provide a field (like video or file object field) for uploading videos.
