External Voting

Posted by shamio on December 22, 2012 at 4:12pm

I want to make external voting api for a drupal 7 based site to allow external voting on nodes like Digg and other social networks. I want to know your ideas about modules that enable it. I searched a lot through all guides about making drupal as a social network but i couldn't find anything about it. Does anyone know a module or a simple way to do that?

need your help on switching to drupal 7 from social engine

Posted by Anonymous on November 20, 2012 at 11:30pm

Hi Everyone,

I haven't fully decided if drupal is the way to go but was hoping people out there could give me advice.

I run a social networking site for professionals. It has been bult on social engine (yuk!). As you can imagine the code and script is extremely slow.

I need to know if Drupal 7 has the following capabilities.

Need to have these all in one site.

member/company profiles
chat/video system
blogs
video/album posting (lightbox?)
Events
Groups
Job board
Classifieds

drupal and diaspora?

Posted by Mumonkan on September 26, 2011 at 6:54pm

is anyone working to integrate diaspora with drupal? it seems that at minimum, hooks could be made to connect a drupal user base with a locally-running diaspora pod. this would allow a drupal user the option to have their account "enabled" as a diaspora user too. from there, more could be built, including sharing activities (posts, comments, etc) via the diaspora pod to the greater diaspora network.

[GSoC Proposal]Ping Me In - The ultimate social networking module

Posted by Alias M2K on April 3, 2011 at 12:44am

There are a lot of social networking sites, Facebook, Twitter, Orkut, MySpace, Friendster etc. to name a few, along with other sharing, book marking and blogging sites like YouTube, Picasa, Flickr, (video and photo sharing) Delicious, Digg, Stumble Upon etc.(social book marking) , WordPress, Blogger etc. (blogging). In short, it will be too hard a person with a Facebook, Twitter, Delicious and Blogger account to update his status, tweet and blog simultaneously in any case. This is where this module comes to aid...

Reference: list of the most useful social networking modules

Posted by Fohsap on March 3, 2011 at 12:23am

I think that it would be nice to have a list of the most useful modules for social networking sites. groups.drupal.org/social-networking-sites has a very short list of useful modules on its home page. I think it would be a great idea to expand the list.

A coalition of the willing

Posted by chrisdwells on June 23, 2010 at 9:31pm

I would urge everyone contributing or even those just tracking this Drupal Group to visit this site, watch the film and reflect on whether there is something here that the our Transition Drupal project can contribute to in some way: http://coalitionofthewilling.org.uk

I'm not sure but the third section proposes a three-pronged website strategy involving a social network spanning local, regional, national and global levels to connect climate change solutions to those in need. I know it's not precisely what we're doing but is there something here worth exploring?
