Using Picture module for responsive images

Posted by westis on June 15, 2013 at 1:23pm

I'm testing the Picture module to use that instead of Responsive Images and Styles for responsive images.

It's part of Drupal 8 and is also recommended over Responsive Images & Styles. There is a submodule for Flexslider and there's a patch for Media to work with CKEditor WYSIWYG (I'm not sure about TinyMCE): https://drupal.org/node/1932898#comment-7166774

Responsive Sliders in Omega

I was wondering if anyone has had any experience in making a views slideshow responsive and could share your experience or solution.

The ole' img { width: 100% } doesn't directly do anything in this case because I'm pretty sure that it's the div that contains the images of the slideshow that need to adjust.

Targeting the slideshow view with CSS I find that I can resize the box the slider is in but two things standout.

1) The height doesn't change.

Problems using imagemaps with responsive images.

Posted by mrpauldriver on January 20, 2012 at 10:40am

I need to create an imagemap which will allows for various points of an image to be hyperlinked. No problem in itself; very basic html in fact.

For my images, I am using a simple method of specifying a 100% width and letting to browser do the resizing within Omega regions.

A problem does arise however with my responsive layouts when the images are sized down. The hyperlinks break because the coordinates in the imagemap (which are embedded in the html) do not change. The result is that the clickable regions move off to the right and in some case outside the image area altogether.
