Field analytics

Posted by scottrigby on April 23, 2013 at 1:22pm

Check out http://drupal.org/project/field_analytics for another way of analyzing on data for not only Drupal nodes, but any fieldable entity type.

As a class-based field reporting API, Field analytics makes it easy to add additional reports per field type.

There is a submodule for Highcharts included (tying with the new 7.x-2.x Highcharts API), which adds charts visualization to the default tabular reports. This submodule is a good example of how to extend Field analytics with additional reporting on field usage and data.

Organic Groups Analytics

Posted by lirantal on August 29, 2012 at 4:51pm

Hey guys,

I've released some preliminary code that integrates fully with OG (Drupal6) and provides analytics extension for each group.

At the moment you get out of the box a very minimal dashboard view and downloads report. A few points to note:
1. The architecture was built to be modular so that every module can extend or create it's own new reports.
2. It is based on Google's Chart API (the new one, not the old static image charts, and due to that it is also fully ajaxed or REST if so to say).

piwik vs. google analytics?

Posted by jakemonO on August 22, 2011 at 5:27pm

I noticed many/most of you (us?) seem to use Google Analytics. Have any of you been using Piwik and have any insight into how/why you made that choice? Aside from the local vs. cloudsource nature, any salient feature differences that swayed your decision?

Thanks,
-Jake

Piwik - Free Open Source Analytics

Posted by steveoliver on March 17, 2011 at 2:59am

During the lightning talks at last month's North County San Diego meetup, one of our fellow Drupalistas asked about an open source web analytics application that he couldn't remember the name of. Nobody could think of it at the time, but I've since come across a "Piwik" and thought it might be what he was after.

Visualizing content/user creation

Posted by gallamine on January 7, 2011 at 4:00pm

I'm trying to come up with an easy way of generating analytics for my site. I have Google Analytics, so I know where people are coming from and what pages they're looking at, but I want to be able to visualize when users sign up and when they create content.

Is there an easy way of doing this? Just a simple historical graph of nodes created vs. time would be great. Or users registrations vs. time would be cool.

I thought about exporting tables from the database then processing them in MATLAB/excel, but that's too much work. I want an easy way out!

Any thoughts?

Generic Reporting Tool

Posted by bradpeabody on April 28, 2010 at 6:53pm

Short version:

It would be rad if Drupal had some basic business intelligence tools which could be used to easily build reporting for web applications written in Drupal. Some basic reporting exists for overall site metrics, but not to easily have custom reporting (unless I've missed it in my searching around - one of the motivations for this post). Looking for feedback on the concept.

Online analytics team and proposal for drupal.org

Posted by open social on April 9, 2010 at 8:44am

On the SEO project team for the drupal.org redesign we recently discussed doing more with analytics measurement of SEO goals and objectives.

After analysing the Drupal.org Google Analytics data we found no goals are specified currently. Neither does there seem to be any governance or
methodology.

To optimize drupal.org we need to take analytics serious. Therefore we have created a proposal of integrating online analytics into Drupal.org and
into the Drupal community. Not just for SEO; we need to improve user experience and gain insights.
