Drupal and Dries - Like your feedback..

Posted by equintanilla on March 29, 2010 at 9:40pm

I had the pleasure of meeting the creator of Drupal, Dries Buytaert, at SXSW Interactive. In addition to creating Drupal, he’s the CTO of Acquia, and Mollom the spam fighter. The following blog post is a compilation or my notes (tweets) from the @Guidelight account. http://www.guidelightsolutions.com/blog/drupal-and-dries

Like your feedback and let me know what you think.

SxSW 2009 Panel Picker

Posted by rho_ on August 14, 2008 at 2:07am

If you haven't seen it on d.o (though you probably have), then I encourage you to check out gdemet's panel picker post. Vote for them all and lets try and increase the Drupal presence at SxSW.

I have a blast every year, and this will make it that much better.

SXSWi 2007 Drupal T-Shirts

Posted by mpare on March 10, 2007 at 9:04am

Well several great things came out of the first day of SXSW Interactive, well less than a half day, just registration really. Needless to say things are going really well and there is tremendous interest in Drupal. Another great thing that came out of Friday's registration is we (paretech.com, Four Kitchen Studios, and BarCamp Austin got together to create a last minute t-shirt for drupal users.

Informal meetup tonight at BarCampAustin (Bourbon Rocks)

Posted by todd nienkerk on March 9, 2007 at 8:25pm

Let's join BarCampAustin for their 6:30pm meetup! David Strauss and I will be there. Join us for free conversation! This will also be a great opportunity to discuss and organize Drupalish events.

Helpful tip: Let's all put "DRUPAL" on our nametags for easy networkishness.

Where: Bourbon Rocks | 508 E 6th St, Austin, TX

Teaming up with BarCampAustin at SXSWi

Posted by todd nienkerk on March 8, 2007 at 10:14pm

Intro to BarCampAustin

Imagine a full day of SXSWi devoted to hanging out with like-minded people at a bar. That's BarCamp, and the organizer, Whurley, wants Drupal to make a splash. According to Whurley, BarCampAustin will be "more ad hoc than we can possibly stand" and "100% nuts." (Oh, and there will be fully customizable T-shirts screen-printed on demand.) EXCELLENT!

Drupal.org Pointing Our Way!

Posted by mpare on February 20, 2007 at 1:54am

Sepeck was kind enough to promote my announcement for this group and our intentions for SXSW Interactive to the homepage of Drupal.org. Hopefully this will help in making sure we get in contact with as many people as possible before the big event.

Hope to see you all real soon.

Peace,
-mpare

Drupal Users Attending SXSW?

Posted by kreynen on February 7, 2007 at 7:32pm

Only local images are allowed. Is there any interest in finding a night Drupal users lucky enough to be in Austin during SXSWi can get together?

SXSW is my favorite conference. I leave Austin both energized and exhausted every year. In addition to putting together great keynotes and panels, there is plenty of time to mingle with other geek speakers at the evening events. I don't know if it's the weather (Austin is a great place to be in March!), the food (the Iron Cactus serves a deep fried Jalapeño ribeye!), or the free (as in beer) beer, but I'm always inspired after meeting so many people working on such creative, interesting projects.
