What’s new for Drupal Project Managers in 2026 and beyond?

Posted by thoreauinsf on January 17, 2026 at 7:33pm

Happy near year, Drupalistas! I am looking to start a conversation about project management and Drupal projects. What are the best practices? How do people see the future of our role in the Drupal community? Are we interested in perhaps advocating for DrupalPM content at Drupal Cons - perhaps even a specific learning track? I’d love to hear thoughts on the topic.

Services/skills range from project management, IA, UX design, custom theme development, custom modules, database designs, game design and development and more.

I'm currently looking for more work or clients. Either as a contractor/freelancer or as an agency [since I also work with others across the US].

How to fetch Views total number of records in page.tpl.php before views.tpl called.

Posted by firoz2456 on June 18, 2015 at 6:16pm

See this image http://prntscr.com/7idx70 for more understanding.

I want to fetch Views total number of records in page.tpl.php before views.tpl called. Is it possible to fetch that row total before views rendered? I am also using contextual filter for this view. Views have page type display.

I have also used module https://www.drupal.org/project/views_record_count. but this will print total number of records on Views header or footer. (Not outside of views)

The Site that Wouldn’t Launch

Posted by cecrs on December 22, 2014 at 5:11pm

At Bluespark, we’ve recently gone through a series of projects that had tight deadlines. After those projects were finished, we took a step back and compared these projects that managed to launch relatively on time and compare them to some of our other projects that, well, dragged on. I realized that there are several reasons why delaying launches are bad and things you can do up front to help a project stay on track. Curious how you manage launch delays and if you’ve had similar experiences.

You can read the post here: http://www.bluespark.com/blog/failure-launch

With rules, context, VBO and CRON we can cover about any linear business logic.
But what if we need iterations, feedback loops, flexibility and complex solutions?

Then we need a flexible and adaptable environment to facilitate dynamic and demanding work processes.

Rigid processes can be limiting and become the actors slowing down growth especially when they are hardcoded into the software.

A living Process enables you to beak the rigidity and empower your end users to be able to provide feedback and continuously improve the process.
