I plan on importing over 3000 individuals that I have researched using the family tree module. Since the family tree consist of so many different families which are all connected to me or to my wife but not all are connected to each other. I would like the site to have it set up in groups so each individual person will only have limited access to his immediate family.
What I would like to have on the site is each individual should be able to access all his ancestors as well as his ancestor’s siblings and their children down to individuals who are his/her 2nd or 3rd cousins. Unless permission are given to see even further
For instance I should be able to view only my great grandparent’s children, grandchildren and great grandchildren which will only give me access to see my second cousins. But I should be able to see the descendants of my grandparents up to another generation which will be my children’s second cousins and so forth.
I first tried setting it up in groups using Organic Group but I was able to view the full family tree from every group I logged in. I am looking for ways in solving this issue. Can this be done in the module, or do I need another module?
I would also like to limit the calender module to each family groups.
I am interested in hearing from others how they created their family tree website and if they have come up with similar issues.
