Is anyone interested in presenting an Introduction to Drupal section at the Utah Open Source Conference in October?
http://www.utosc.com/pages/home/

We have presenters for WordPress and Joomla! introductions already. This would be a quick one hour introduction to get people's feet wet. A description of the Introduction to WordPress session follows:

Title: Introduction to WordPress
Abstract: This hands on workshop provides you with the skills to build your first website using WordPress. We will briefly walk through creating a MySQL database on a Linux Apache system and installing WordPress. Then we will immediately start adding pages and blog posts to your websites navigation menus. You will then customize your website using thousands of pre-built themes and plugins including integration with FaceBook, YouTube, Twitter, and Google Maps.

A desktop or laptop with internet access is required for this workshop.

I also vote that someone record it so that I can watch it since I probably won't be able to make it.

We submitted a Drupal/CiviCRM

Posted by dharmatech on July 26, 2010 at 6:28pm

We submitted a Drupal/CiviCRM integration talk to Clint (UTOSC). Haven't heard whether it's been accepted or not but we're willing to help get the Drupal word out.

Also, we want to start attending and getting involved in the UDUG meetups. Is there anything we can do to help?

Cool, more talks the better.

Cool, more talks the better. As far as helping out with the Drupal meetups. We can always use more quality talks. When the next meeting happens, sign up to give a talk on some recent work you've done or techniques you've found helpful.

Should we start a new thread

Posted by dharmatech on August 3, 2010 at 2:42am

Should we start a new thread for the August meeting on the front page so others see it and comment We're happy to help organize, cover pizza, whatever.

Topics we could present:
Dissect a recent project we worked on (IA/advanced theming)
fcgid vs. apc: performance tuning in a VPS
Monitoring with Munin

Topics we'd like to hear about (module development):
Writing Views code
Custom CCK fields

done

if you could add a comment about stuff you'd like to present on that'd be great.
