Hi all,
I am not sure how much time Eaton is able to put into this.
I am not even sure how I can contribute back the code back to the community after/during the porting changes (not even sure, if I am capable).
But as a strat, I have started a Webcomic Module 4.7 to 5 Porting Wiki Page to track this.
Any comments/suggestions are welcome.

Added ToDo list to the Wiki page
Updated the Wiki Page.
I reviewed the rest of the source code. The views implementation is a bit over my head and may take a bit longer than I thought - it would be helpful to get some suggestions from those versed in Views module.
After putting all my notes, I have put a ToDo list that should give us a bit of direction - for those who would like to help.

Thank the cosmos! I did not end up doing to much of 'reinventing the wheel'.
I was searching the issue queue and it seems like mustafau has already put a 5.x update in the patch queue.

Views integration
Just to let everyone subscribed know - that 5.x-1.x-dev still have views integration missing. Once that is sorted out, we should be on track.
